Has InboxDollars improved? Is it still bad? Legit?
InboxDollars is a big name in the GPT industry. There’s many ways to earn some extra cash on spare time. Now owned by Prodege, things do seem to have improved. But is it still worth it in the year 2020? I’m sure some of you may already have had an account but have been cheated out of being inactive. Right?
So what is InboxDollars?
InboxDollars is a money making website. It has been around since early 2000 but then bought by Prodege in 2019. Prodege owns SwagBucks, MyPoints, and many other similar GPT (get paid to) sites.
There’s a sweet $5 bonus for signing up. Then a $0.50 profile survey by them. After the first cashout, there’s a $3 bonus along with a $2 short survey.
There’s many ways to earn, with some easy ones (though low earning). The better earning tasks require much more work, investment, or risk. There are surveys, offers, videos, etc. This is fairly typical in all GPTs. I will mention the easy and guaranteed earners later.
Is InboxDollars Legit?
I made a new account back in January 31st, 2020. I was still skeptical to join because of my bad experience in the past. But now with Prodege behind the wheel, things have really improved. This company has never let me down before.
It took me a while to cash out for the first time for two reasons. I wasn’t very active at first and I wasn’t able to do the video offers until early June. On June 26th (2020), I decided to cash out $63.94. This is way above minimum, but I was in no rush.
On their support page, they state that payments are processed on Wednesdays, which is when I got paid (on July 1st).

Ways to earn
Just like your typical GPT money making site, InboxDollars has various ways to earn. Most ways are through third party tasks. There’s tasks are surveys, offers, sign-ups, cash-back shopping, searching the web, videos, etc.
I don’t do surveys, but if that’s your thing, they do offer few made by the site itself. Those always do credit, unlike the risky 3rd party kind.
Cash-back shopping is also available, but not worth it. GPTs earn lower percentages. I’d go with Rakuten instead as that’s its main purpose.
But unlike Rakuten, InboxDollars does offer to print out coupons. We’ll only earn a cent per coupon print, but an extra 10 cents per redeemed coupon. Not to mention, the savings at our local stores~
InboxDollars also has free games for us to play. Although they don’t earn us money directly, it does increase the Scratch & Win meter.
InboxDollars Scratch & Win
Speaking of the Scratch & Win meter, this is one of my most favorite features here at InboxDollars. See, whenever we complete any sort of task, the meter increases. There are 3 checkpoints, with the third one being the best!

We can click on any checkpoint at any time or day (it won’t reset on its own). However, do realize that once scratching, the meter resets to the beginning. For the best prizes, it’s best to wait until it’s full!
Though there is the potential to win $100, I’m going to be realistic here. Don’t get your hopes up with such a big reward! That’s like winning the lottery! So let’s concentrate on the real obtainable ones here. The actual highest earning we can get from S&W is 25 cents, I’m sure. Which is not bad at all! This is a bonus by simply being active!
Easy ways to earn
These are the easiest ways to earn on InboxDollars that I’m aware of. They require very minimum effort and we can multitask easily, as well.
PaidEmails
PaidEmails don’t earn directly anymore, but they do increase the Scratch & Win meter.
These emails are absolutely harmless. They come directly from InboxDollars, and not from random advertisers. So don’t worry about spam.
But if you really don’t like the idea of getting these type of emails, you can simply create a new email address. But if you don’t want to do that either, you can check these emails through the website itself!
Watch videos

Watching videos has always been my favorite way to earn from any money making website or app.
There are few that run on auto! They can run on their own while we do other things. Recently, I’ve been earning from 60 cents to a little over a dollar with this alone — daily. Yup! An extra $20 to $30 a month through easy tasks always sounds good to me!
Learn & Earn
You can find this one on the home page of InboxDollars on the right column. We don’t have to answer with the correct one to earn. It’s only available once a day, but it’s very fast and easy.
It usually rewards us by increasing the Scratch & Win meter, but few times it does earn a little bit of money.
Bonuses
We can earn bonuses when signing up, from completing tasks, and from first cashing out. Here are screen shot examples of when I first cashed out:
Referral system
The referral system here at InboxDollars is actually very generous! For each person that we refer, we earn a $1. That’s obviously not much, but the juicy part is that we earn 30% of whatever our referrals earn!
So if your referral makes $30, that’s $10 for you! It’s not a one time thing either. For as long as our referrals are active and keep earning, we’ll earn from them forever! …Well, for as long as the site remains in good business, of course.
Payment methods
There are only two payment options available. InboxDollars pays through PayPal and traditional checks. For either option, the minimum cashout is a big $30. And I’ve read from others that there’s a hefty $3 fee. To waive it, we must reach to $40 instead.
For PayPal, payments are processed on Wednesdays of every week. Though I’m not 100% certain if requesting payment on a Tuesday means the payment will go through the next day.
As for checks, they state it takes up to 2 weeks to arrive. There doesn’t seem to be an extra fee for processing, but I could be wrong. I’ll update once I find out.
Pros and cons
I like pointing out the strengths and flaws in an easy outline:
Pros
- Scratch & Win
- I really enjoy filling it out when I’m active, for a random little bonus~
- Fast payments
- The longest to wait is perhaps a week for PayPal payments
- 2 weeks for checks, which is reasonable
- Great bonuses
- Good bonuses for joining in
- Original InboxDollars surveys are generous
- Bonuses for cashing out the first time
- Generous referral system
- The norm is 10% from other GPTs, but this one provides 30% from referral earnings!
Cons
- Inactivity
- According to their old article, they still punish inactive accounts
- Inactive for 10 days (for not login in or checking their PaidEmail once) results in us not being able to cashout
- After 6 months, our accounts will get closed (this is what happened to me last time)
- PaidEmails don’t earn anymore
- What these emails do is increase the Scratch & Win meter, though
- High minimum cashout
- We must reach $30 in order to withdraw our earnings, which is very high for this type of site
- To make matters worse, there’s a $3 processing fee unless we cashout $40 or more instead.
- Still a typical GPT
- Though I feel that Prodege has improved things, there is still not much originality
- It still depends heavily on 3rd party offers and surveys.
Conclusion
InboxDollars has been in the money-making website business since 2000. It has paid out tens of thousands of dollars to its members. There’s very few easy ways to earn, but like all GPTs, there are risky offers too. Surveys and offers are from third party agencies found anywhere on other sites.
Its Scratch & Win and videos are what makes me active on the site. I’ve recently started earning from 60 to over 100 cents a day from very minimal effort while I multitask.
